HOUSING AFFORDABILITY BREAKTHROUGH CHALLENGE
Client - Enterprise Community Partners
Our work on Enterprise Community Partners’ Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge began in 2020 while producing the inaugural Pitch Days as an online event. The partnership extended into 2022 when we spent 14 days documenting the progress and impact of six winning organizations across six diverse communities—from Brownsville, Texas to Tacoma, Washington, and from New York City to Jackson, Mississippi, as well as Boston to Oakland, California.
In 2023 we were delighted to be Enterprise’s creative partner once again for the second cycle of HABC, this time supporting online interviews with over 40 semi-finalists, and culminating in the two-day pitch event, streamed live from the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Enterprise looked to us for leadership in all aspects of production, guiding decisions on staging, lighting, and AV, and orchestrating interviews with sixteen finalists and Enterprise, Wells Fargo, and museum leadership, as well as capturing B-roll to craft a dynamic winner announcement video.
Throughout every phase and iteration of this project we have relied on our tried and true pre-production process and worked closely with Enterprise on creative and technical solutions to meet their production needs, whether online, hybrid, or on location.

MORE FROM THIS PROJECT
The final 2022 innovation videos aimed to introduce audiences to an inspiring array of solutions to the nationwide housing crisis, and have been distributed across social media channels as well as forming the heart of an experiential exhibit at The National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Throughout the process we collaborated on story development, identifying visual themes and community voices to tell the story of each innovation, as well as the impact of Enterprise’s partnership in helping bring them to life. We also conducted pre-interviews to refine the story, align messaging goals with production logistics and prepare organizations for location filming in each of their communities.
THE RESULTS
“Really Useful Media’s agile, strategic support elevated and amplified the Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge – a $20 million initiative to source urgently needed housing solutions. From a flawlessly produced two-day virtual pitch event, to a delightfully human video celebrating our winning innovations, their clear vision, technical command and post-production mastery proved invaluable. We can always count on Really Useful Media to deliver excellence.”
