MUSEUM WELCOME VIDEO
The Louis Armstrong House Museum, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the legacy of the legendary jazz musician Louis Armstrong, needed a captivating welcome video for their visitors. The museum aimed to provide a comprehensive history of Armstrong's life, his immense contributions to jazz, and the significance of the museum's collections. They engaged Really Useful Media to edit the welcome video because of our proven expertise working with their archival materials to produce their virtual gala programs in 2020 and 2021.
LEVERAGING ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE
We collaborated closely with the museum to understand their vision, working with curators and historians to choose archival content that ensured the narrative was informative and emotionally resonant, while meeting messaging goals. The final product seamlessly weaves together archival footage, photographs, and audio recordings of Louis Armstrong, and features interviews with historians and musicians for expert insights and personal anecdotes. This successful project strengthened the relationship between Really Useful Media and the Louis Armstrong House Museum, leading to our most recent collaboration producing a tribute video honoring the memory of Chair Emeritus Jerome Chazen and his lifelong commitment to preserving Louis Armstrong’s jazz legacy for their 2024 gala.
