PEN WORLD VOICES FESTIVAL

PEN America’s annual World Voices Festival showcases international literature through a four-day lineup of talks, readings, and conversations across New York City. PEN has engaged Really Useful Media since 2017 to provide video production services that can meet the varied technical needs and creative goals of multiple live events, while also delivering high-quality content on a tight turnaround for online distribution. Featured writers and speakers we have filmed  include Ta-Nehisi Coates, Joyce Carol Oates, Arundhati Roy, Jennifer Egan, and Ottessa Moshfegh.

CUSTOM SOLUTIONS FOR EVERY VENUE

Our team customizes production packages for each event, aligning the technical capabilities of each venue with PEN’s production priorities and budget. This flexibility allows PEN to capture a diverse slate of programming—from marquee events requiring multiple cameras, livestreaming, and enhanced audio, to smaller, more intimate panels documented with a streamlined setup—at a consistently high standard.

HYBRID INTEGRATION FOR REMOTE PANELIST

For one of the 2025 events, PEN America needed to feature a speaker appearing live from Spain without disrupting the natural flow of conversation with the panelists on stage in New York. We delivered a hybrid setup with two-way AV and full audience visibility, enabling smooth, real-time interaction that felt just as immediate and engaging as if everyone were in the room together.
